Quine Linux
A KDE Plasma desktop that keeps itself up to date. Built on Aurora and Fedora Atomic, from our own infrastructure.
Alpha
- Expect rough edges and changes from one build to the next: names, apps and defaults aren't settled.
- Try it in a virtual machine or on a spare computer. Installing erases the disk you choose.
- Updates arrive nightly, so a problem can come and go between days. Restarting into the previous version undoes an update.
Updates itself
Each night a new version downloads in the background and takes over on your next restart. The start menu tells you when one is ready, and the previous version stays, to roll back to.
Image-based
The system is one tested image, the same on every machine, not a pile of packages updated one by one. Your files and settings live apart from it.
KDE Plasma
Aurora's polished Plasma desktop, with Flatpak apps from Flathub and Homebrew for command-line tools.
Our own apps
Layer Wizard, DNF Package Store and Swap Watchdog come built in.
Built in the open
Every build runs on Quine's own forge, and we're moving everything it's built from onto mirrors we run, so it won't depend on anyone else's servers staying up.
Try before installing
The live ISO boots into the full desktop; install from it when you're ready.
